Mary Rountree Moore is a fine art painter whose work includes expressions in acrylic, oil, concentrated watercolor and mixed media. Her work is strongly influenced by travels in the Caribbean, Europe, North and South Carolina coastlines and the US southwest. Thirty years in apparel and product design contribute to her strong sense of color and composition.

In addition to painting, Mary Rountree Moore has an interest in photography and styling, and consults on various design projects. She concluded six and a half years as Design Coordinator for Vietri Inc., importer of Italian ceramics and glass in 1998 to concentrate more time on painting. “I strive to capture the feeling of those fleeting moments of the sublime – the vast beauty of nature which humbles us all. The images are derived from nature’s innate abstractions, allowing the mind’s eye to gather it’s own interpretations. It is the memory of those undeniable visual experiences that gives me inspiration.”

Moore currently lives and works in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.
