Andras J. Bality received a BFA from Virginia Commonwealth Univ. in 1986, post graduate studies at the Cyprus College of Art, 1987. He is is a fine art painter whose works are in many public and private collections throughout the United States, including: the Federal Reserve Bank, Markel Corp., UVA Children’s Hospital, MCV, and the Jersey Shore Medical Center. He has received The Pollak Prize in painting and a VMFA professional grant in painting. He is represented by the Reynolds Gallery in Richmond, VA and Blue Print Gallery in Dallas, TX.

He currently resides in Richmond, VA when he is not traveling for new inspiration for his plein-air painting style.

ARTIST STATEMENT:
My paintings are based on observation. whether it’s painting or drawing from life, or participating in or watching a situation transpire and then taking the images in my mind’s eye and assembling the parts later in my studio. I think as humans we all have an innate ability to be transpired by art, no education or money needed. However both the artist and the viewer might need a bit of faith in the unseen.
