Taelor Fisher
Taelor Fisher’s work investigates motherhood, domesticity, labor and time. Her paintings at first appear to be detailed patterns interrupted by color and organic shapes. However when viewed closely, the viewer will see the multiplicity of layers, woven together to create harmony. Fisher plans each layer in order to unify opposites: chaos and order, present and past, organic and geometric. The finished paintings are summaries of this process, and in fact are also metaphors for motherhood.
Fisher is inspired by her weaving practice, minimalism and abstract expressionism and her identity as a Christian and a mother.
Her work has been collected publicly and privately across the country and featured in multiple print and online publications. In 2018, she was commissioned by Neiman Marcus and The House of Creed to create a painting inspired by their new women’s fragrance, Floralie. This campaign focused on the idea of the strong historical relationship between Flowers and Art. The product and painting can be seen in every Neiman Marcus, Bergdorf Goodman and Creed Boutiques across the United States and France. “I find great inspiration in the natural world and consider flowers especially stirring.”
Fisher currently resides in Dallas, Texas.
